Producer and Industry Veteran Mac MacKenzie Joins ProActive

CHICAGO, September 10, 2007 – Chicago-based strategic communications and events agency ProActive is pleased and honored to announce the addition of industry veteran Alexander S. "Mac" MacKenzie as senior executive producer.

"It is humbling to welcome Mac to ProActive," says President Tony Lorenz, CMM. "He is a legendary leader in the business communications and strategic event industry, contributing to its development with his innovative thinking and bold direction. He has always been at the forefront of the production world, and I am thrilled to play a role in Mac's next chapter at ProActive."

Mac brings a powerful combination of production, creative and management experience, with 29 years in the business. His projects have taken him across the globe, becoming expert at staging shows in difficult venues—from World Congresses, World's Fairs and Expos to music concerts for Tony Bennett and Carlos Santana, from B2B events for audiences for 100 C-level executives to 17,000 attendees.

Creatively, Mac has brought a new level of visual style to the strategic story arc, convincing accomplished advertising and documentary filmmakers and artists to cross over into corporate communications. In one five-year period, Mac and his partners won more than 30 awards for their film work, from the New York Film Festival to Tellies to Monitor Awards.

He comes to ProActive from WPP's MJM where he worked since 2004. Prior to that, Mac was executive vice president, managing the production operations for the Strategic Communications Group within PGI, an industry-leading agency which he jointly formed in 1990. His accomplishments there include merging traditional disciplines to form new product groupings and client offerings, acquiring and integrating nine companies, and learning the vices and virtues of venture and vulture capital. Mac's clients included British Telecom, The Coca-Cola Company, The Ford Motor Company, IBM, Verizon and Xerox, among others.

He spent his early career with then Jack Morton Productions helping develop their already sophisticated music and entertainment product into a full communications offering. Mac credits close personal friend Jack Morton for teaching him the intricacies and subtle nuance of talent management.

"I am extremely pleased to be joining ProActive and the Freeman organization," says Mac. "The combination of the solid reputation, the amazingly diverse range of products and services and, most importantly to me, the commitment to quickly adapt to a client-driven marketplace is profoundly exciting. Ours has always been a collaborative industry. The talent, experience and attitude of the team have always determined the competitive advantage. This is a truly great team."
